Here's how to reduce or enlarge what's on a layer. To see how to reduce or enlarge a path scroll down to reply #4. I want to reduce this red square.

You would click on the layer you want to reduce or enlarge, so my red square's layer, and choose Edit>Transform>Scale from the menu bar. A bounding box will appear like you see around the square. In the options bar you will see a W: and an H: field which I outlined in red. This is where you enter the percentage you want to reduce/enlarge your layer. If you click the link between the W and H, purple arrow, your layer will reduce/enlarge in proportion and you only need to enter an amount in one of the fields. In the picture you can see when I entered 50% in the W and H fields my layer/square was reduced in the file. To apply the reduction you click the check in the options bar or double click inside the bounding box. To cancel it click the circle with a line through it, outlined in blue.

You can also adjust the size by dragging the corners of the bounding box, black arrow, instead of entering an amount in the W and H fields. You will see as you drag one of the corners the amount will automatically change in the W and H fields. Again you would click the check in the options bar or double click inside the bounding box to apply it.

This is how the options bar looks in Photoshop CS3 when you choose Edit>Transform>Scale. The red arrows point to what is different.

You'll see things look the same as when you reduce or enlarge a layer. You can enter a percentage in both the W and H fields or click the link between the two and just enter an amount in one of the fields. Or if you choose you can grab a square in the bounding box, purple arrow, and click and drag to make your adjustment. In the picture you can see when I entered 50% in the W and H fields my path was reduced in the file. Click the check in the options bar or double click inside the bounding box to apply it.
