To get your toolbox back go to Menu bar>Window>Tools. You get your layers palette back from the same location. Just choose Layers. See if the photo below helps, 2torials.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=toolspalettes&action=display&thread=58I have Photoshop CS3, so two versions back from yours. The tutorials were done with Photoshop 7 and CS3. In my experience Photoshop doesn't change drastically from version to version so while there may be things located in other places there shouldn't be a problem at all using the tutorials. Can you tell me the name or post the link to the tutorial in question? If you don't know how to post the link just go to the tutorial. Then copy what appears in your search bar at the top of your window and then paste that in your post.

Do you have a Photobucket account? If not you can get one for free here, photobucket.com/Once you have your images uploaded to Photobucket you'll need to copy the link that appears under the photo you want to post. Now come to the forum and paste that link into your post. If any of that is confusing I'd be happy to make you a short and simple tutorial with images walking you through the process.

It should be the layer at the top of your layers palette. Are you using the Photoshop CS5 trial for Mac or PC?

ok thats where Im confused.. The only delete it gives me is the delete layer and when I did that it deleted my whole layer.. had to undo that.. .. yes i have photobucket .. this is where im stuck so I skiped ahead and moved on and did the step around the shadow on the frame where the dog is on it and then again it asked to delete and no delete avaialable.. so then i kept going and tried the link the frame 2 with frame 2 back and it wont let me click on the link at the bottom of the pallet thing...
