I was always curious as to why the themes in the ProBoards' theme library were labeled as free so I asked about it on the support forum. I was told that there's a possibility that they might set up a revenue sharing deal so theme creators could charge for their themes.
My question is would you pay for a theme? And if yes how much? I've seen themes for other providers go for $30+ but I can't imagine anyone paying that for a PBS theme.

I enjoy seeing all of the themes but would not pay for any ...Haven't seen one yet that I would want to pay for.

If ProBoards does implement the charging for themes I'll be interested in seeing how much they take per theme and what people charge for them.

If you really wanted to make bank on designing themes, I reckon that Tumblr is the way to go. Nearly all of those fecking themes you choose from are worth money now. And they aren't cheap, either. $40-$60 isn't uncommon by any stretch, and apparently these people are getting what they want or else they wouldn't be costing this much.

Do you have any links for themes selling for that much? I'm curious as to how much is involved with a theme for that price.
The themes I've seen going for $30+ don't have any graphics. There might be some changes to the structure but I really didn't notice anything that really wowed me. Now there are these other themes designed by a really talented graphic designer that sell between $32 - $40. But her themes are full of A+ graphics.

I don't know how to link to them, but if you check the theme "market" or whatever they call it, it's like half of them are definitely around $49 now. And I don't think they're very impressive either, but I don't know how this works. It might not be that easy for all I know, maybe they're very selective about who they allow to sell themes on their market.

I wish ProBoards would hurry up and decide whether or not they're going to do this or not.
