The Clone Stamp Tool is another fun Photoshop tool. Here I'll show you a few options for it.

First thing you want to do after you've selected the clone stamp tool from the toolbox is select the size of the brush you want to use. In the picture I chose a pretty big feathered brush. I hold the alt/option key, for Windows it's the Alt key, and my cursor changes to a circle with a cross like I made in the picture. I then click down on my clownfish picture to create a sampling point. Then I release the alt/option key and move my cursor to where I want my clone to be, so up and over, and start painting to make my clone. Because I chose such a large brush when I clicked down once a big section of the clownfish picture appeared. You can now compare it to when I chose a small feathered brush and clicked down once only a very small part of the clownfish picture appeared.

In this picture I have the clownfish on one layer and the blue box on a second layer. In the options bar you will see I have Use All Layers checked. So when I make my clone both layers are cloned. But if I was to uncheck the Use All Layers box only the active layer, so my clownfish, gets cloned.

When I have the Aligned box unchecked each time I click down and paint a new clone will start. With Aligned checked it will only make the one clone in the one place so if I tried to brush outside the new clone area nothing would appear.

If you lower the opacity when you click and paint as long as you don't release your mouse or lift your pen your clone will be at the opacity you set it to. If you release your mouse or lift your pen as soon as you brush over your clone again it will raise the opacity percentage. If you continued to do this you would eventually make your clone at 100% opacity.
