It might be helpful to check out the How To Make Glitter tutorial if anything here is unclear.
What I have done to get to this point is in Photoshop I made two butterflies each on their own layer with the Custom Shape Tool. Then i made a layer and filled it with red for my red butterfly and another layer I filled with purple for my purple butterfly. I named the layers red glitter and purple glitter.
I came into ImageReady and one color at a time I added my grain texture. Then I created my 3 glitter butterfly layers for each color so I had a total of 6 glitter butterfly layers. I named them 1, 2 and 3 for the red and then 1, 2 and 3 for the purple. As I went I locked each one. Then I threw out the red and purple glitter layers.
Now you should have 3 layers for the red and 3 layers for the purple like you see in the picture.
I'm going to merge all the 1's then all the 2's and then all the 3's together so I will only be working with 3 glitter butterfly layers. This is not something you have to do you could just make sure all the 1's are showing for frame 1 and all the 2's are showing for frame 2 etc. This is just a way to reduce the number of layers you are working with so you have less to worry about.
Click on the top layer named 1 to make it active and then click in the empty box on the other 1's layer, I have outlined it in red, and a link icon like you see in the picture will appear.
Now at the top right corner of the layers palette click the black arrow and choose Merge Linked from the window. The two layers named 1 should now be one layer. Repeat this step to link and merge the two layers named 2 and then the two layers named 3. Link and Merge Layers.
