In the layers palette name the layer back color. Fill this layer with white and apply the lock position lock to it. Now add a new layer and apply the lock position lock to it as well. Name this layer button.

Select the Rounded Rectangle Tool. In the options bar use these settings.

Choose any color and then click and drag to make your button's shape.

You're going to be using an existing style but making a slight change to it. Go to your styles palette. If you let your cursor hover over a style its name will pop up in a tiny window. Click on the Round Recessed style. If you don't see this style it's because you don't have the set which contains this style loaded. Check out Reply #1 in the thread Preset Styles.

You'll see in your layers palette all the effects for this style are applied to the button layer.

The effect you're going to change is the Drop Shadow, so double click on it. In the Layer Style window change the Drop Shadow's settings to these.

Click on the arrow on the button layer to hide the effects. You do this to make room in the layers palette this doesn't hide the effects in your file. To hide an effect in your file you would click the eye on the effect's layer in the layers palette.

Add a new layer and name it white trim. Apply the lock position lock to it.
