Fill Layer 1 with white and name the layer back color. Drag a vertical guide to the center of the file. In the menu bar select View and make sure Snap To Guides is checked. If you want to show/hide or lock your guides you'll find those options in this window as well.

Add a new layer and name it body. Select your iPod's color. With the rectangular marquee tool make a selection for your body. Fill it then deselect. Use the move tool to place your body in the center of the file. You'll feel it snap when it's centered with the guide.

Add a new layer and make sure it's above the body layer. Click on your foreground color, which should be the color you selected for your iPod. In the Color Picker window click and drag the ring until you get a darker version of your color. Below are the two colors I used.

Make your body layer a selection. In the menu bar choose Select>Inverse. Click on Layer 1 and delete. Deselect. If your shading could be a little darker make a copy of Layer 1. Adjust the opacity until it looks right. Link and merge Layer 1 and Layer 1 copy. Name the layer left shading.

Make a copy of the left shading layer and choose Edit>Transform>Flip Horizontal. While holding the shift key use the move tool to drag the left shading copy to the right. Once in place link and merge the left shading and left shading copy layers. Name the layer shading.
